Charter and Travel 2012- We have lots of diving planned for 2012 to keep you interested and underwater. Let’s take a look:

Little Cayman , April 14-21, 2012 – “The Goddess Trip”

Come dive with us on the beautiful reefs and stunning walls of Little Cayman! We’re going back to Little Cayman Beach Resort for7 days of exotic diving, gourmet meals and tropical relaxation Goddess-style! Cost is $1,795.00 and includes 3 dives per day, 3 delicious meals per day, double accommodation, round-trip transfers from airport to LCBR, taxes and service charges. Nitrox is affordable and available. Airfare is not included, however, we will be glad to quote you round-trip airfare from Charleston to Little Cayman. We are reserving this week as our “Goddess Trip” week. We’re taking only girl divers and are planning a pajama party, underwater photos with tiaras, goddess party bags, a photo session on the beach, spa treatments and other goddess activities. Sally Robinson is leading this trip and will be happy to answer your questions. We are incredibly limited in space on this trip (7 spaces out of 12 are reserved) so please reserve your space early!

Bonaire , Dutch Antilles, August 11-18, 2012

Experience complete dive freedom in Bonaire! We had such a WONDERFUL time in Bonaire this last October, we decided to go again! We’re staying at Buddy Dive Resort where you can literally dive 24/7! Our dive package is $1,150.00 and includes condo accommodation (2 or 3 bdrms)double accommodation, breakfast daily, (6) 1-tank boat dives, unlimited shore diving, truck rental/taxes and acco. taxes. Rick Moore, our newest instructor, is leading this trip. Rick has been diving the Islands for years and is excited to lead one of our groups! Since Bonaire is incredibly photogenic, you might want to think about purchasing an underwater camera and housing for this trip if you don’t already have one. (We know where you can get a great deal on an Innova, Sea Life or Nikon camera!) Airfare is not included in the trip cost, however, we will be glad to quote you for round-trip airfare leaving from Charleston.

Rainbow River/Crystal River, Florida , January 13-15, February 17-19, March 16-18, 2012

When the weather turns cold the manatees return to the Florida springs and so do we! We’ve planned 2 dives Sat. morning in CrystalRiver in addition to snorkeling with manatees, 1 night dive in the RainbowRiver and then 2 dives Sun. morning in RainbowRiver. This is a terrific way to complete your Open Water, Drift Specialty and Underwater Photography Specialty or just to get some relaxing dives for your logbook. Cost is $399.00 and includes transportation in our van (space permitting), acco., dbl., occ., charter fees, park and launch fees, tanks, weights and air fills. The night dive is an additional $60.00 for divers and $25.00 for snorkelers. If your budget won’t allow a week in the Bahamas, this is the perfect, inexpensive get-a-way trip!

Saba , Dutch Antilles, July 21-28, 2012 - Once you dive the Island Queen, you’ll never want to dive anywhere else! Saba is a 5-square-mile jewel of an island surrounded by a marine sanctuary. The diving ranges from shallow reefs to pinnacle dives to incredible wall dives. We’ve sent several clients to Saba over the years and they all say the same thing – “What a find!” Tim Schmitz has visited Saba 3 times over the past few years and has declared it his favorite spot to dive! With his Saban expertise, Tim is leading the trip and is looking for students who want to finish their Open Water, Advanced Open Water, Underwater Photography and Peak Performance Buoyancy certifications. We have several spots already reserved on this trip and are taking 12 – please put in your deposits by the middle of January to assure your place on this fabulous trip! Cost is$1,229.00 and includes 7 nights acc. Dbl.occ., 11 dives, daily continental breakfast, roundtrip transfers, taxes, 2 free dinners and 1 free lunch. Not included are airfare, departure taxes ($5.00), marine park taxes ($55-60) and staff tips.

Maldives , October 7-21, 2012 - Yes, we’re finally heading to the exquisite Maldives. We’ve planned to spend 7 days aboard the luxurious M/V Orion, diving the more far-flung islands, and then we’ll relax for 4 days on Koomandoo Resort, diving with mantas and sharks. Then, we’ll schedule a day in Dubai before returning to the States. We are taking 16 divers/snorkelers on this trip and 7 spaces are already filled. If you are interested in this trip, please let us know at your earliest convenience. Cost ranges from $7,500.00 – 8,400.00 per person depending on airfare and packages chosen for the liveaboard and resort.

New dive gear for 2012:

Check out our packages - you can make huge savings!!!

Aqualung Essential package: This is a fantastic package for those who want good dive gear for a great price. The package price of $899.95 includes the Pro LT BCD, the Titan regulator, the ABS Octopus and (our favorite) the Zoop 2 gauge computer console. The regular price for this package is $1,351.95 so the savings are truly spectacular!

Tired of stressing about the 50-55lb weight limit for dive gear on the airlines? De-stress with the new Aqualung Zuma BCD ($395.95), Hotshot fins ($129.95) and Mikron regulator ($488.95). All have been engineered with weight in mind and are light and comfortable. Or you can check out Oceanic’s new Travel-Lite BCD ($449.95). See there, wasn’t that easy?!.

Ikelite JVC Video Package and the Ikelite Nikon Digital Coolpix L24 Package - Have you been searching for an underwater camera or video system that delivers quality without breaking the bank? We have too and we think we’ve found them! The JVC Picsio GC-WP10A package includes both camera and housing for $460.00 – and it’s just beautiful! The Nikon Coolpix L24 packagehas a 14 megapixel camera that’s waterproof to 10 feet without its housing. In true Ikelite fashion, the camera housing is simple but sturdy and easy to use. (Sally used the Nikon on the October Little Cayman trip and was very pleased1) Cost is an astounding $380.00! We have both in stock at the moment – take a look at both of them.

Scuba Courses - you want ‘em, we’ve got ‘em! Scan the Training Page on our website http://charlestonscuba.com/ for schedules, prices and course info. We have Open Water courses on sale this year again. Buy your Open Water course in December 2011 for $25.00 off and use it anytime in 2012! You can also check the Events Page for a calendar of courses through December 2012. Of course, training dives can be completed on almost any charter or trip. It’s true, good divers never stop training!

That’s about it for now. We’d love to see you in the store, on one of our trips, in class/pool or on the charter. Please let us know how we can better keep you in the water and diving! Thank you and we hope to see you diving soon!
